Big Rules for Small People
I’m a believer in the written word. I’m a believer in the spoken truth, (especially when spoken to ourselves). And I’m a believer in the neuroplasticity of the young minds of my children.
Something I’ve been working on for quite some time. Some BIG rules, for the SMALLEST (and most important) people in my life.
And maybe, for me…too.
- I will always be my Brother’s Keeper. I will always be my Sister’s Keeper.
“When brothers and sisters agree, no fortress is so strong as their common life.” – Antisthenes
- I will treat others with kindness & empathy.
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” – Matthew 7:12
- I will respect my parents and elders.
“If you honor your parents, your children will honor you.” – Guru Granth Sahib
- I am grateful for my blessings, and will seek to serve others.
“The Joy we seek, lies in Gratitude. The Gratitude we seek, lies in Service.” – Dad
- I will always be honest.
“No legacy is so rich as honesty.” – William Shakespeare
- I will live with integrity, and be accountable for my actions.
“He that is good for making excuses, is seldom good for anything else.” – Benjamin Franklin
- I will work hard and live with discipline.
“Discipline equals Freedom.” – Jocko Willink
- I will be confident, yet humble. There is no such thing as “can’t”.
“It always seems impossible, until it’s done.” – Nelson Mandela
- I am a Leader.
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more…you are a Leader.” – John Quincy Adams
- I have decided to live an extraordinary life.
“What we think, we become.” – The Buddha
